Use of this site is provided by Fairtrade India Project Centre for Social Markets hence forth to be referred as CSM, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Your use constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions as at the date of your first use of the site.
  • CSM reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified.
  • You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner which does not infringe the rights, or restrict, or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by any third party.
  • This site and the information, names, images, pictures, logos regarding or relating to CSM are provided "as is" without any representation or endorsement made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied. In no event will CSM be liable for any damages including, without limitation, indirect or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising from the use or in connection with such use or loss of use of the site, whether in contract or in negligence.
  • CSM does not warrant that the functions contained in the material contained in this site will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that this site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs or represents the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the materials.
  • Copyright restrictions:
  • Commercial use or publication of all or any item displayed is strictly prohibited without prior authorisation from CSM. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as conferring any license by CSM to use any item displayed.
  • Documents may be copied for personal use only on the condition that copyright and source indications are also copied, no modifications are made and the document is copied entirely. However, some documents and photos have been published on this site with the permission of the relevant copyright owners (who are not CSM). All rights are reserved on these documents and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners (the sources are indicated within these documents/photographs).
  • By posting or submitting content on our site, you grant CSM a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to republish any material you submit to us, without limitation, in any format.

  • CSM accepts no liability in respect of any material publicly posted by users of this website, nor are we responsible for the content and accuracy of that material. Any views expressed in user-submitted content are not the views of CSM.
  • CSM reserves the right to terminate a user’s website account if we believe you are abusing the service in any way, or have breached these terms and conditions.
  • If there is any conflict between these terms and conditions and rules and/or specific terms of use appearing on this site relating to specific material then the latter shall prevail.

WHO WE ARE

Fairtrade is a movement for change that works directly with producers, businesses, consumers and campaigners to make trade deliver for farmers and workers. Fairtrade is a global movement with a growing presence in India. The Fairtrade India Project of the Centre for Social Markets is a key representative and co-ordinator of the Fairtrade movement in India.

Centre for Social Markets which is incubating the Fairtrade India Project is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a Section 25 Company committed to promoting social and environmental sustainability across businesses, citizens, civil society organisations and government agencies in India.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT

We collect some or all of the following Personal Data from you when you register for the Fairtrade pledge and/or Campaign:

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may use your personal information in the following ways:

  • To provide support in relation to our services, products or other information requested by you, or in relation to correspondence entered into with us.
  • To administer events, online orders, donations, fundraising or any other support required or where required or authorised by law to do so.
  • We use your information to keep a record of your relationship with us and for administrative purposes (such as our accounting and record-keeping). We also use your personal information to advise you on updates and changes to our services or policies.
  • If you enter personal information into a form on our website (such as a campaign action, donation or purchase) and start but don’t complete it, we may send you an email to check and see if there is any help we can give or any problems you encountered.
  • To update you on our work at Fairtrade, and the difference your support is making to farmers and workers around the world.
  • To ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted.
  • For marketing, campaigning or fundraising (e.g. raising awareness, inviting you to events, sharing posts, signing campaign actions, helping us raise money, donating to us) by mail, email, phone or social media to send you information about our latest news, campaigns and occasional fundraising activities. For example, we may make petition submissions to third parties, where you have signed the petition that the third party is the target of, or we may send you fundraising appeals or ways to help us raise money.
  • We also use personal information to administer employment, volunteering and internship applications.
  • To help us understand how we can improve our services and create a tailored experience for you, we may create a profile or use profiling techniques, using personal information we collect in conjunction with publicly available information to better understand our audiences.
  • When building a profile we may conduct research and/or analyse demographic, geographic and other information you’ve provided about your interests and preferences. We may also use this information to help us determine other things you might be interested in getting involved in, or what capacity you might have to donate or fundraise for us, particularly if you are highly engaged with the Fairtrade India Project. Currently we do very little research and analysis at this level, but we may do more in future.   • We may occasionally invite you to participate in surveys or research about Fairtrade. We will explain how we will use the answers and data you provide when we ask you to participate.

HOW WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SAFE AND WHO HAS ACCESS TO IT

  • At the Fairtrade India Project Centre for Social Markets, we take data protection very seriously. We try to ensure that we have the right level of controls in place to ensure we keep your personal information safe. However, the nature of information transfer – particularly online – is never fully secure, so we cannot guarantee the complete security and protection of it when it is outside of our control. Once we have your personal information, we do everything in our power to ensure that we have the systems in place internally to safely send it where and when required to our partners.
  • As mentioned above, only authorised staff have access to your personal information, and only if essential.
  • Occasionally we use external companies to collect or process data for us on our behalf. We have strict confidentiality agreements with our suppliers that they do not use, share, or sell the personal information we provide to them for undertaking or helping us to undertake our work.
  • When you agree to receive email communications from us, we reserve the right to share your encrypted email address with social media companies such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube. This also applies to digital advertising networks that may identify audiences with similar interests to yours, and display our advertising on the aforementioned social media platforms. If you do not want your personal information to be used in this way, you can email us at info@csmworld.org .Please note that our advertisements may still be shown to you on a randomised basis or based on cookie data. We take the protection of your personal information seriously, so we only enter into contracts with service providers that require them maintain proper controls to protect the security of your information. Sharing in this way does not permit the third party to use your personal information for their own marketing purposes.
  • There are times when our emails to you or our website may contain links to other external sites. We try to ensure that these organisation’s sites are respectable, but we are not responsible for their privacy policies. There may be information that can personally identify you.   • We will comply with legal requests to disclose your details as permitted by law to the police, Government and regulatory bodies or legal advisors if required.
